When you decide to add a patio area or section of paving to your outdoor space, there are some things you can consider to help with the planning. For example:

Purpose – is the hard standing to be used for recreation, leisure and pleasure or is it the base for a carport, shed or workshop?
Location – if you want a patio for outdoor dining then it is probably best sited close to the house. If its for relaxation then consider where the sun will hit it at certain times of the day, and how you’ll want to use the space, and site it appropriately.
Size – is largely dependent on the space you have available. Some of our clients prefer the whole frontage, or even back garden, to be paved for low maintenance. Or you may prefer just a small patio outside your kitchen or living area.
Shape – a utilitarian square or rectangle is fine for most purposes, but if you want to get creative perhaps you’d like to go for a circle, or a kidney-shaped area.
